Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is Hypno Poker, and how can it help me?
Hypno Poker helps poker players strengthen the mental side of their game through private hypnotherapy, mindset coaching, and immersive poker mindset audios.
The work is designed to help with tilt, confidence, focus, emotional control, anxiety, self-doubt, and the pressure that can affect decision-making at the table.
It does not replace poker strategy. It helps you access what you already know more consistently, especially when emotions, variance, or pressure start to interfere.
2. Is this only for professional poker players?
This is for poker players who know the mental side of the game is affecting how they play.
You may be dealing with tilt, confidence dips, anxiety, pressure, overthinking, fear of busting, rushing decisions, emotional carryover, or struggling to access your A-game consistently.
You do not need to be a professional player. If your mindset is affecting your decisions, focus, or confidence at the table, this work may help.
3. Is this only for professional poker players?
No. I work with recreational players, serious amateurs, semi-professionals, and professional players.
The level of poker may be different, but the mental patterns are often surprisingly similar: tilt after difficult hands, loss of confidence during downswings, rushing decisions, overthinking big spots, or carrying one hand into the next.
If your mental game is affecting your ability to play the way you know you can, this work can be relevant at any level.
4. How is this different from traditional poker coaching?
Traditional poker coaching usually focuses on strategy, hand analysis, ranges, and technical decision-making. Hypno Poker focuses on the state behind the decision.
You might know the right play, but under pressure your body can tighten, your thinking can speed up, and emotion can take over.
Private mindset sessions help you work with those internal reactions, so your strategy is easier to access when it matters.
5. What happens in a private session?
Private sessions are calm, focused, and personalised to you.
We start by looking at what is happening in your poker game: the situations that trigger you, how they feel in your body, the thoughts that show up, and what you want to experience instead.
Depending on what you need, we may use hypnotherapy, NLP-informed tools, anchoring, visualisation, nervous system regulation, or deeper subconscious work to help change the internal patterns that show up at the table.
6. I’m not sure I believe in hypnosis. Does it still work?
You do not need blind belief. A curious, open mind is enough.
Hypnosis is not about losing control. It is a focused, guided state where you can work with thoughts, emotions, habits, images, and automatic reactions in a different way.
You remain aware and in control throughout the session. Many poker players are skeptical at first — which is completely understandable — but they often notice how natural the process feels once they experience it.
7. Can this help with tilt, pressure, or emotional control?
Yes. This work is designed to help poker players regulate their state when pressure, emotion, frustration, or fear starts to interfere.
This is not positive thinking. It is not about pretending everything is fine. It is about learning how to regulate your state, interrupt unhelpful patterns, reset faster, and return to clearer decision-making when the game feels uncomfortable.
8. Can this help if I’m on a downswing?
Yes, mindset work can be especially useful during a downswing.
A downswing can affect confidence, patience, decision-making, motivation, and emotional control. The aim is not to deny variance, but to help you stop the downswing from turning into self-doubt, fear, or unnecessary mistakes.
We work on staying steady, separating decisions from outcomes, and rebuilding trust in your ability to play well.
9. Will I get practical tools I can use at the table?
Yes. The aim is to create tools that fit into your actual poker life.
Depending on what you need, this may include breathwork, reset phrases, anchors, visualisation, nervous system regulation tools, and immersive audios you can use between sessions.
You do not need to spend hours each day working on your mindset. Often, small repeated cues can help reinforce the work and make it easier to access at the table.
10. Does this work for both online and live poker?
Yes.
Online and live poker have different pressures, but the internal patterns are often similar: focus, discipline, emotional control, confidence, patience, fatigue, tilt, and decision-making under pressure.
Sessions can be tailored to the format you play most, whether that is live tournaments, cash games, online poker, or a mixture of both.
11. How long does it take to see results?
Every player is different.
Some players feel calmer, lighter, or more focused after one session. Others notice the changes building over time as they practise the tools and experience poker situations differently.
No mindset work can honestly guarantee a specific poker result, and poker will always contain variance. The focus is on changing the patterns that affect your state, decisions, confidence, focus, and ability to reset.
12. What if I already have a poker coach?
That is great.
A technical coach can help you improve your strategy. My work helps with the mental and emotional side of executing that strategy.
The two can work very well together. Strategy tells you what to do. Mindset helps you stay clear enough to do it.
13. Do I need therapy or mental health issues to benefit from this?
No.
Hypno Poker is focused on poker mindset and performance. It is not a replacement for medical care, counselling, or mental health treatment.
Many players come because they want to perform better, reset faster, manage pressure, reduce tilt, or feel more confident at the table.
14. Is private hypnotherapy expensive?
Private hypnotherapy is an investment in the part of your game that influences every decision you make.
Poker players often spend money on coaching, solvers, courses, travel, and buy-ins. Mental game work supports your ability to use the strategy you already have — especially when pressure, emotion, or variance enters the room.
The question is not only what the session costs. It is also what tilt, fear, rushing, self-doubt, or emotional decision-making may already be costing you.
15. What if I’m unsure about booking?
That is completely normal.
A free poker mindset call is a simple first step. We can talk about what is happening in your game, what you would like to change, and whether private sessions are the right fit.
There is no pressure. Just a conversation to see what would genuinely help.
